Keeping Users in Mind

The success of an interactive product is strongly determined by its ability to allow users to complete their tasks effectively in their natural work environment. By applying methods of user-centred design, also referred to as usability engineering, I add to identify relevant usage factors and help to keep them in mind throughout the development cycle.

Availability

Since October 2008, I work full-time for PhaseZero, a Berlin-based company that designs next generation networked home media systems, and am no longer available for freelance activities.

OpenUsability

In my spare time, I support open source projects usability-wise. OpenUsability, an initiative that promotes usability in free and open source software (F/OSS) development, serves as a platform for that work. It provides a playground for usability specialists and young professionals.

Between 2006 and 2008, I used to organise the Season of Usability, a series of mentored student projects in FLOSS projects for students of students of usability, user interface design or related in the scope of OpenUsability.
